Born and raised on the Squamish Nation in North Vancouver, B.C., host Simon Baker is an accomplished screen actor who started working in front of the camera at the age of nine. His credits include 3 seasons on the hit TV series, “North of Sixty”, leading roles in Steven Spielberg’s “Into the West” and Ron Howard’s “The Missing”, and starring roles in a range of award-winning independent films. Before setting out on his Native Planet journey, Simon hosted CTV’s acclaimed aboriginal current affairs series, “First Story” which featured Arts, Culture and happenings in the Native community across Canada.
Simon is Haida, Squamish and Cree and lives with his family near Vancouver, British Columbia. He is a staunch advocate of his First Nations culture, a talented Haida and Cree singer/dancer and an avid lacrosse player.
